Hermione’s Kitty Korner Post #5: My Highs and Lows

Happy Caturday! Hermione here with more adventures to share from my kittyhood. In my last column, I told you how curious I am and how I like to explore everything in Debbie’s house. https://wp.me/p7XcB0-xG
Today, I’d like to meow about all the high and low places I’ve found in the Big Rooms.

There’s a chair in the living room that I enjoy climbing on and looking down on the world.

The couch is a great place, too. It’s comfy and features a nice view.

Although I never hear anyone playing it, the piano is a purrfect place for me to stroll across. I noticed that Debbie removed all the delicate and glass objects from the top. She’s smart for a person.

Of course, the kitchen windows also offer nice views. My brother and I love jumping up on them and watching the outside world.

As far as low places, there are also quite a few that I’ve discovered.

I enjoy laying under chairs, couches, and beds. I sometimes hide under them, too.

Don’t get me wrong, I still like to go inside places, too. Boxes are my favorites.

My brother and I are taking a trip to the vet’s today, so we checked out the cat carriers Debbie has for us that she placed in the living room.

Of course, I had to try one of them out. I chose the blue one.

Hope you’re enjoying my adventures. Purrs until next time, Hermione.

Feature Friday Film: Kittens (and Cats) Just Wanna Have Fun!

Sneaky here with some videos about a favorite cat activity. No, it’s not sleeping or eating, but it’s a close third — it’s playing. It’s true kittens do this more often, but even old cats will play if you get them started with an interesting toy. Debbie recently found this out when her 10-year old, Stripey, became curious about the toys she’d gotten for her new kittens. Here he is checking out their toy box. He and Debbie later had some fun games together.

Here’s a video with some “paw”some tips on how to play with interactive cat toys with your furbabies.

And here’s a film showing cats and kittens playing with toys.

Harry’s Kitty Korner #4: It’s Cold Outside but Warm in Grandma’s House

I’m glad my sister and I are indoor cats because it’s gotten really cold outside. There was supposed to be a snowstorm here, but we were lucky and only got the freezing temperatures. We had just a little snow a few days ago. I’d never seen the white stuff before because Hermione and I were born in the summer. I had fun looking out at it, but I was able to stay warm inside.

Hermione and I have been having fun playing with all the toys our grandma person, Debbie, has gotten us. One of our favorites is the “bee” toy. I love catching it in my mouth. After I jump and fly in the air after it a few times, I have to take a quick cat nap.

I still wish the old cat, Stripey, would become pals with us. He seems interested in us but then hisses or growls when he sees us and runs away. It’s okay. I’m sure he’ll come around one day. I’ve seen him sniffing around the house looking for us, and he even plays with our toys.

It’s great living with Debbie and her daughter. Hermione and I are treated like babies. Debbie even put a bumper sticker on her car about us.

Until next time. Handsome Harry aka Harold when I’m naughty.

Feature Friday Film: The Ups and Downs and Ins and Outs of Kittenproofing

If you’ve been keeping up with this blog, you’ll know that I’ve been featuring a Kitty Korner column written by my author’s real-life kittens, Harry and Hermione. These two kittens are sure keeping Debbie on her toes, so I thought I’d help her (and you readers) by showing some kitten proofing and cat-proofing tips. Have a mice weekend, and keep those kitties safe.

Hermione’s Kitty Korner Post #4: I’m a Curious Cat

Purrs, it’s Hermione with more adventures from my kittyhood to share. Now that my brother Harry and I have been exploring the Big House, we’re having so much fun. I’ve discovered many new things. Here are some of them.

Debbie’s desk is a great place to perch, but I don’t think she agrees. She tells me to get off her computer. I don’t understand why she objects. She keeps so many papers and other stuff up there.

A room they call the “kitchen” is full of fun spots. There’s a door that opens to a cold place with delicious smells. They call it a refrigerator. When someone opens it, I like to stick my head in and check out the yummy stuff inside.

I also found an invisible machine in the kitchen that makes water sounds. Debbie calls it a dishwasher. I can’t figure out what it is, but I’m very curious about it.

Further down the hall, there’s an interesting room. The people in this house go in this small place they call a “bathroom.” I think it’s similar to my litter box, but they close the door behind them when they go in there, and sometimes I hear a strange flushing sound when they leave.

Besides being curious, I’m also quite nosy. I love checking out what that girl Holly is doing on her phone all the time.

Now you all may be wondering the progress between my brother and I and the old cat, Stripey. It’s slow but sure. He still growls at us and occasionally swipes the air, but no fur has flown between us yet.

I’m almost six months now and, as I’m growing up, I’ve mastered some interesting skills. I can balance on my scratching post with my cute white booties.

I can also stretch high on the post. Aren’t I long?

Hope you’re enjoying my adventures. Purrs until next time, Hermione.
