Sneaky here with another pawsome interview of a pet character. Today, it’s my pleasure to be speaking with a cozy mystery dog whose current book is on tour with Escape with Dollycas Into a Good Book.
Hey there, Pup, what is your name and your author’s name?
My name is Biscuit. I’m a dog, what my human mom Carrie Kennersly calls a golden toy poodle-terrier mix. Our author’s name is Linda O. Johnston.
Very interesting. My author grew up with poodles, but now she only has a cat.
What book(s) have you appeared in? Please list them and their genre.
That’s something to bark about. I’m in four books, too, although the fourth hasn’t been published yet.
Please give more information about your books.
Like I said, I’m in the Barkery & Biscuits Mystery series. It’s really about my human mom, Carrie. She’s what they call a veterinary technician, which means she helps sick animals get well. She says she created some healthy dog treats during that work—and I can vouch for them tasting great! They’re the reason she bought a friend’s human bakery, Icing on the Cake, and turned half of it into Barkery and Biscuits, a shop where those wonderful dog treats are sold. I get to hang out at the Barkery while Carrie’s at the shops.
The thing about why there are books is that humans keep getting killed in the town of Knobcone Heights, the location of the shops and Carrie’s vet clinic. People thought Carrie killed the person in the first book so she had to figure out who really did it–and since then she’s gotten involved in finding out who killed other people because sometimes her friends are accused like she was.
I like that Carrie makes biscuits and that she’s so smart, but I just hope she doesn’t get hurt.
Boy, your series sounds doggone good. My books take place in a small town, too, Cobble Cove. There are mysteries to be solved, and we have a small shopping area, but the library where I reside as library cat is the main focus of our stories.
Are you based on a real animal such as your author’s? If so, please give further details.
No, our author Linda is a real dog lover but she didn’t use a real dog she knows to base me on.
I’m not really based on a real cat either except I look a great deal like Debbie’s Siamese, Oliver, who sadly went to Rainbow Bridge this past November.
What do you like most about your role in your authors’ books?
I get to spend lots of time in the Barkery! Yes, I get sample treats there, though never as much as I’d like. And Carrie also takes me to her vet clinic when she’s doing her part-time work as a vet tech where I get to play with other dogs. I love how much time I get to spend a lot of time around my wonderful human mom.
It’s always important to stick by your main character’s side. Since Alicia works at the library, I see her almost every day. I also get some treats because the staff members sneak goodies to me especially Laura, the children’s librarian and Donald who will never admit he likes me.
Do you have any new books coming out? Please give dates and details.
Linda has told us there will be at least one more book in our series, likely to come out in May 2019.
Are you and/or your author on social media? If so, please list your links.
Linda is. Here’s the info she gave me:
I haven’t heard of those blogs, although my author has our Cobble Cove Character Facebook chat group and will now be blogging for Pens, Paws & Claws. Best tail wags to you and your author on your new book. I’m adding your Rafflecopter link that I’m told is part of your blog tour that includes a nice prize: http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/02887792723/?widget_template=56d5f80dbc544fb30fda66f0
